Surface Tension
* Surface Tension is a measurment of the cohesive energy present at an interface.

Facts on Atoms
*All matter is made of elements.
*An atom is the smallest piece of matter and cannot be commanly broken down.
*Electrons are small particules located outside the nucleus and have a negitive charge.
*Atoms are NOT simple common spheres.
*An electron cloud is the region where electrons would probably be found swirling around the nucleus.

Atoms Party
So todays all the scientists are having a stoms party. Every scientest has to bring food that represents their discovers. Dalton brought munchkins donuts to represent the solid form. thompson brought chocolate chip cookies to representthe electrons. rutherford brought foshnauts to represent the atoms and the hole represent the nucleus. Bohr is bringing the three teired cake to represent the energy levels. Then Schrodinger and Heisenberg are bringing life savers to represent the electron clouds. Decorations will be disco balls to represent the atom, we will also have the gold foils to represent the experiment made by Rutherford. Some games will be darts to represent the atom that bohr had discovered. There will also be a make to represent that there is no certain way that the electrons in the atom move. There will also be lazer tag to show that the electrons move around so fast.

Hi there! Welcome to our lab group page! In this lab group there are Alexis, Danielle, Taylor, and Alyssa! In this lab we measured density. Our question is how does the density of water compare to the density of solids. We measured Rubbing alcohol, Methonal, and pennies.

So we answered some questions and the first question was, Why do boats float even though they are made of materials denser then water? The answer we got was the boat pushes down on the water, and the water pushes up harder then the boat pushes down so then the boats float. A boat floats when it has displaced just enough water to equal its own original weight. This is the website we got the information from http://www.ypte.org.uk/environmental/boats-why-do-they-float-/107. The next question is Explain how density could be used to determine if a crown is made of gold? You figure out how dense gold is and then find the density of any crown.

This graph below represents Boyles Law. Boyles law is, when Volume decreases the pressure increses. In this graph it shows how the pressure increases when we decreased the volume in the syrenge..

Another set of qestions were from Taylor and Alexis, our first qestion was"What is Archamedes Princible?" The answer we got was "A princible that states that an object

in a liquid is lifted up by a force equal to the weight of the liquid." The other qestion that we had was "Who was Archimedes, and how did he come up with the princible?"

The answer we got was pretty crazy! Archimedes was a greek mathematican, scientist, and engineer. He discovered Archmedes princible in the bathtub. When he did he jumped out of the bathtub and ran up and down the street screaming he found it.

This graph below shows the data results for the lab we did called Heating a Liquid. It shows when heat is added to water and it boils when it hits the boiling point.

So today we are doing an experiment to answer the question, Does the volume of water affect the time it will take to boil

Hypothesis: The volume of the water does not affect the time for it to boil because it depends on the tempature.

IV: The volume of the water.

DV: The tempature.

Constants: Same liquid.

So far we finished our two volumes for the beackers, and ther first volume was 50mL and it took 5 minutes to boil, and then next volume was 100mL and it took 11 minutes to boil.

Question: What happens to the tempature of water when different volumes with different tempatures mixed together.

Hypothoseis:More hot, less cold the tempature will rise because there will be a greater hot water then cold.

IV:The volume of the water

DV: Tempature

Question: Why does rock salt lower the temperature of water.
Answer: There is less heat, so now the ice can capture molecules.

This link shows you to a diagram of the ice cube going through the process.
